Robin! Hand me the cannister of Bat-Shark repellent!

History lesson boys and girls. A long time ago, batman was played by an actor named Adam West! You may know him now as the mayor from Family Guy but way back in the 1960's he was the caped crusader! The original Batman movie had Batman and Robin fighting the likes of Joker, CatWoman, The Penguin, and the Riddler all at once!!! And let's not forget about the scene where a shark jumps out of the ocean and bites onto Batmans leg while he dangles from a ladder attached to the Bat-Copter!!! Luckily bats had some Bat-Shark repellent on hand and the shark fell safely into the ocean... This was a real quick and unfinished drawing but dammit that was a "classic" scene and for some reason I can't get that horrible movie out of my head!!!

Oldies but goodies

Like I have said before, I enjoy sharpies. If I would take more time I could even out the blacks and make it look "cleaner" but again I got lost having fun drawing a few of Universal Studios famous movie monsters.

I'm going to have to fix this one up, maybe add some color to it and show it again, or I might get distracted and take a nap. Only time will tell.

Yes... that is a Fraggle

His name is Boober, and he was the doom and gloom Fraggle. My wife Nicole gives me ideas of things to draw to help expand my drawing knowledge. As we sat here geeking it out to video games and comic art she turned to me and said, "you need to draw a Fraggle!" What the hell... I really enjoyed drawing him, I got to have a little fun with color and it was a pretty quick drawing. You can almost smell the freshly eaten Dozer sticks... For any kids out there not knowing what I am talking about feel free to Google the wonderful world of Fraggle Rock!

It's-a me Mario!!!

The wife was busting out some old school Super Mario World last night and that made me have to do a pen and ink sketch of my man Mario. I hope that Bullet Bill doesn't have any plans for old Mario, he's got a princess to save! I'm trying to adjust my style where it looks good and I can get drawings done quickly. This is one of the next steps in my plan. Develop a quicker style, perfect backgrounds, work on panel art, send off submissions and make money drawing comics!!!!!!

The ghost with the most!

I got bit by the motivation bug last night. I sat down with some scrap paper, an HB pencil and a sharpie marker. I have always loved sharpies, I have no idea why, usually the blacks aren't consistent but something about the bold lines they leave... Anyway, here is my take on Beetlejuice! I took away some of the more human facial features and darkened him up a bit. I have another I'm still working on where he looks more real and decomposed and will post that one later but for now here's this one. I did have a lot of fun drawing the ghost with the most!

Arkham Asylum's Finest

It would be my dream job to draw a batman book, I have always wanted to put my interpretations of the batman characters out there. I wanted to start with the villians. Batman had the BEST bad guys and the riddler always fell short. The classic Riddler was a lame 2nd stringer version of the joker, Jim Carrey's version was...well let's just say that the entire batman franchise was headed in the wrong direction. My batman universe would be more twisted, there is a lot of sick deranged goings on in Gotham city and my riddler is a great example. I traded the question mark suit coat for a body scarred and tattooed with question marks. There is no mask, but you can't see his face. The biggest riddle about my riddler is no one knows who he is all batman knows is that he is literally obsessed with 2 things, the riddle and the death and demise of batman. Yeah I know... you guys just read a hard core geek moment in my life but I really like the sketch, this one was fun and there will be more to come.

Who ya gonna call?!?!

Here is a sketch I did of a ghostbuster, along with everybody's favorite spooks; the Staypuff Marshmallow Man and Slimer!! This is a simple pencil sketch I did because my adorable nephew is 2 and LOVES the "ghosbussers" so here you go...
